🎾 On tap: We’re kicking off week two at Wimbledon with the round of 16, and there are some great storylines to follow. Team Great Britain’s last man standing, Arthur Fery, will land on Centre Court against Grigor Dimitrov after pulling off a gutsy match tiebreak win over Zizou Bergs. Alex Eala will also play on Centre Court against Jasmine Paolini. And Taylor Fritz faces Alexander Bublik and his cannon of a serve. More on today’s line-up below.
🎾 Back from the beach: If you’re just getting into Wimbledon after a holiday week, check out the Court Theory Wimbledon preview, and scan recent issues of The Daily Theory. We’ll get you caught up quickly. 😊
🎾 Have you gone shopping yet? This Babolat Wimbledon Collection is just too good to pass up!
🎾 One to watch: Taylor Fritz vs. Alexander Bublik (4th round - Wimbledon): Watch this one to see if ace machine Alexander Bublik can keep it up against Taylor Fritz, the last American standing. Keep an eye on whether or not Fritz keeps up his strategy from the last round in which he came to the net…<checks notes>…38 times!
The record: The head-to-head record between Taylor Fritz and Alexander Bublik is tied 4-4. Fritz has won both grass court meetings, including their most recent one in Stuttgart a couple of weeks ago.
On the line: Fritz is seeing a clear path to the Wimbledon final. He just needs to get past the biggest server left in the draw first. Meanwhile, Bublik must be thinking that with his serve firing the way it has been, he has the same chance.
