Good morning, Court Theorists! ☕️
Today’s tennis mood: Eager + a bit incredulous.
We’ve got good drama on the court and not-so-good drama away from the court happening today. I’ll let you decide which is which. Plus, we’ve got winners from our Australian Open giveaway with our friends from Diadem.
Let’s tennis!

🎾 Staying put: Andrea Gaudenzi has been reelected to a third term as chairman of the ATP, the organization announced on Thursday. The new term will take him through 2028, a few more years to continue his vision for the ATP Tour and professional tennis, in general.
What he said: “Now is the time to keep pushing. The second phase of OneVision is about unifying our governance, adapting and becoming more agile, because our sport is undeniably stronger when we move forward together. Thank you to the ATP Board and our members for their continued trust and support,” Gaudenzi said.
Noteworthy: The support from the board indicates no plan to capitulate to the PTPA and its lawsuit. The top of the organization remains unified.
🎾 Winners: Congratulations to Jean S. and Jennifer W. on winning our Australian Open giveaway with our friends at Diadem. An Elina Svitolina Signature Axis 98 and a Diadem gear-filled backpack will be on their way soon! Sign up for Court Theory Plus, and you’ll be entered in every giveaway, plus a whole lot more!
🎾 One to watch: Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. Stan Wawrinka (2nd rd - ATP 250 - Montpellier): Two crowd favorites for a chance to advance to the quarterfinals? Yes, please. Watch this one for the impressive ball-striking Wawrinka has been putting up for his final season. On the other side of the net, it’s a temperature check for FAA, given his lackluster start to the year.
The record: This will be the first time Felix Auger-Aliassime and Stan Wawrinka face each other.
On the line: At 1-2, Auger-Aliassime’s 2026 hasn’t started well. This match is a chance to get things on track. For Wawrinka, it’s his last ride around the tour, and every match counts.
