🎾 On tap: It’s Wimbledon semifinals day, part two. This time it’s the men in action, and we’ve got two whoppers for different reasons. Can Arthur Fery, the British wild card who has stunned five opponents in a row with outstanding grass court tennis, do it one more time against Alexander Zverev? (Let’s hope so.) And who will emerge as the winner between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic? Unclear. But it wouldn’t be surprising if we’re treated to a wild five-setter.
🎾 ICYMI: The women’s semifinals yesterday were quite brilliant, setting up an all-Czech final on Saturday.
Karolina Muchova def. Coco Gauff 6-2, 1-6, 7-6
Linda Noskova def. Marta Kostyuk 6-4, 6-4
🎾 Wrist watch: Carlos Alcaraz is reportedly not on the entry list for Montreal, the first of the Masters 1000 events in the U.S. Open Series. The decision is calling into question whether or not he will/should play this North American swing at all and give his wrist injury more time to heal. His last tournament was in mid-April. He is, however, still training — and with a modified racket, as you’ll see in the Instagram post below.
🎾 One to watch: Jannik Sinner vs. Novak Djokovic (Semifinals - Wimbledon): Watch this one for the competitive drama between two players with a tight head-to-head record. If the level of play they’ve displayed so far this Wimbledon is any indication, we’re in for a treat.
The record: Jannik Sinner leads the head-to-head record over Novak Djokovic 6-5. However, Djokovic won their most recent meeting at this year’s Australian Open, a five-set battle in the semifinals.
On the line: Jannik Sinner wants to defend his Wimbledon title — and, as the world number one, wants to get on the board for a major title this year (or even a final). Meanwhile, Djokovic sees another chance at getting his 25th major title, although he’s downplaying the importance of that. Perhaps he’s channeling his inner Madison Keys.

🎾 🏆 🎤 YOUR CALL
(Yesterday’s poll results: 77% of you wanted Coco Gauff to defeat Karolina Muchova. Muchova won 6-2, 1-6, 7-6.)
And that’s game.
