Let’s tennis!

Three Points
🎾 Korda out: American Sebastian Korda announced on Wednesday that he will be out of the grass season due to a leg injury that currently has him using crutches and a boot. “Unfortunately no Wimbledon for me this year,” Korda posted on Instagram. “Stress fracture in my shin during the clay. Been a tough 12 months, but better days ahead.”
- Why it matters: In general, it’s a tough setback for the 24-year-old, who has been riddled with injuries his entire young career. But it’s especially critical in this part of the year when he has more than 1200 points to defend.
🎾 Coaching change: On Wednesday, Pam Shriver announced her decision to end her coaching relationship with Donna Vekic, calling it “one of the greatest experiences” in her five decades in tennis.
- What she said: “Here in LA, it’s been a challenging year, therefore I need to lean even more into my community & my family’s wellbeing,” Shriver posted on social media.
- The timing: The moment for a change might not be so great for Vekic after a string of early-round losses during the clay season and a ton of points to defend in the grass season, most notably from a semifinal Wimbledon run last year.
